Frequency - Aguanga, California - USA
Sometimes my abstract creations come after the fact, when I decide to experiment with editing. This is one I had a vision of while making the capture. If you divide the piece into quarters you can see the original image, which is entirely unaltered. I simply mirrored the image to create the added psychedelic effect. I was wandering about, in a very peaceful & meditative state, at the lake, on a windy day. I observed these mesmerizing, captivating, beautiful ripples, patterns, and mixtures of color. They were created by the reflection of lake grass, and windy conditions, appearing much like wave frequencies. An example of the type of subtle, and profound beauty that can be experienced in life, when we're aware, and in the present moment. The more present we are, the more frequent they appear.
Eternity - Temecula, California - USA
This experimental piece was created from a photo of a large rock embedded into the hillside, in the De Luz hills of Temecula, CA. The rock was predominantly brown & gold. I experimented by drastically changing the hues to give it a more abstract look. However, the incredible range of color & contrast remains the same, and it's what captured my attention, and desire to make it into a piece of art. I actually drove past the rock, and was fascinated enough to stop the car and get a closer look! If you divide it into quarters, you can see the original image. It's mirrored for the final psychedelic effect. There are seemingly millions of color variations in this piece, and the close up detail is truly incredible. As if eternity is contained within this wondrous creation from God/mother nature.
Simple Magnificence - Laguna Beach, California - USA
"The very fact alone, that you are here, existent, in this moment, should fill you with awe & faith in existence. When we learn to appreciate the simple magnificence of life, the extraordinary appears more often. Mere reverence, wonder, and awe for our experience expands the mind, and connects us to a universal source." - BBB These succulent beauties are found abundantly in Laguna Beach. Found on a random walk through a random neighborhood, and it's one of the many reasons why this is easily my favorite beach town. This is a variation of the original with additional editing, including an oil paint effect.
This began as a capture of a Manzanita tree's branches & leaves. The hues have been drastically changed from their original, although the signature red branches of the Manzanita are still mostly intact. The original image has been flipped & mirrored several times to create this final piece. There is immense detail in this piece, which I believe must be seen to fully appreciate it. It also leaves a lot to the imagination, as there are many images within images.
Mother Nature's Mural - Temecula, California - USA
This rocky mural was found while exploring one of the only wild rivers in Southern California, the Santa Margarita, in the Temecula/Fallbrook area. The river is lined by beautiful rocky canyons with incredibly gorgeous rock formations. I had to ignore no trespassing signs and even cameras to find this geological wonder at the base of the canyons. I don't think mother nature minded the trespass, and the experiencing of her beauty. All of these amazing colors and contrasts provided by millions of years of erosion. It's fairly subtle to the naked eye, but not from the 3rd Eye Perspective. Cranked up the edit to high intensity to make this art from god into an abstract piece of art.
Perhaps nothing fascinates me more than intricate formations and magnificence found in the minerals and geodes of our Earth. This is a photograph of a large rock, filled with quartz and crystal, found while exploring alongside a creek in Southern California. I altered the hues for more of a dramatic, artistic effect, but the myriad of colors & contrasts are provided to us naturally by mother nature. I also added a paint daub effect for some added abstraction.
Photograph capture of a large rock embedded into a mountain. The original rock was predominantly brown & golden. I drastically changed the hues to turn it into a piece of art, however the incredible range of colors & contrasts remains the same, and is the reason I originally captured it. There are literally millions of colors in this piece. The up close detail is staggering. I also lightly altered it to appear as paint brush strokes. There is a psychedelic variant of this piece titled: "Rock Formations".
This creation came to be because I was observing the light patterns reflecting in the water in a swimming pool. When observed, the intensity of the light is quite dramatic. I spent quite a while capturing it on this day, and this is the final result. If you divide this image into quarters you can see the original shot. I mirrored it to give it the psychedelic effect. This piece is also available in blue, titled "Liquify Blue".
While on a routine walk in Laguna Beach, CA was pleasantly surprised to see these interesting, huge beautiful yellow mushrooms growing out of a tree trunk. They were about 12 inches wide. While I felt the original image was interesting in it's own right, after a suggestion by my wife, decided to experiment & turn this into a fully psychedelic image - they are mushrooms afterall :)
