Philly Electricity

Philly provided me with a feeling of excitement and electricity, that was somehow distinctly different than the other major metros I've been to. Not only does it have fantastic historical importance, and points of interest, but the city really comes alive at night, with some beautiful modern skyscrapers as the highlights. I was simply strolling around downtown with no destination in mind, when I looked up and experienced this scene that perfectly represents the Electricity in the Philly air.

Boston Stillness - Boston, Massachusetts - USA

Boston is kinda cool at night, especially along the riverfront. I also saw more joggers here than ever before, which made me feel like I wasn't hip, b/c clearly, jogging along the riverfront is the thing to do here. I preferred to be still, in the present moment, and stare at it instead of run past it.

Electric Miami - Miami, Florida - USA

Miami offers quite a distinct flavor compared to other major US Cities, from the tropical flora & weather to the creative & interesting architecture, neon lights of the city, and even giant Iguanas roaming around. I thoroughly enjoyed experiencing this city, and probably walked around photographing it more than any other. This night skyline gave me a particularly electric feeling of excitement. I first noticed it, and felt that feeling driving along the bridge, making note to come back and walk the bridge with my camera. These impressive yachts are also characteristic of Miami. I had explored the docks just before heading over to the bridge, and was quite happy they framed so nicely in this shot of electric Miami.

St. Ann & Royal - French Quarter - New Orleans, Louisiana - USA

At dusk, in the middle of the street at the intersection of St. Ann & Royal in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana. It's always a bit exciting, and not uncommon for me to stand in the street, working quickly before the next wave of traffic comes. When a scene speaks to me, such as this, exemplifying the French Quarter with rod iron balconies, fleur-de-lis flags, downtown skyline, and quintessential French Quarter accents, I must follow that voice!

Cleveland Rocks - Cleveland, Ohio - USA

Cleveland really surprised me, and deserves a mention as one of my more favorable major US cities. Very lively, with great energy, architecture, culture, and plenty to do and see. One of the highlights being a fantastic skyline, with lots of places throughout the city to enjoy views of it. My quest was to find a great spot to capture this city, which had captured a piece of my heart. I found this amazing view, at Heritage park, a small green space along the Cuyahoga river, which left me with the feeling that Cleveland does in fact Rock.

Temple - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - USA

Nature is truly my church, and my temple. I spend much of my time in reverence of it's infinite beauty, but also love to admire and appreciate the creations of man. These incredibley intricate designs found at the entrance to the Masonic Temple in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The night time, and the illuminated lights made for a fantastic dance of light and shadow.

San Fran Stoppage - San Francisco, CA - USA

If you appreciate architecture as I do, you'll find plenty of reasons to fall in love with San Francisco, and arguably, it doesn't get any better, as far as U.S. cities. So much beauty & variety to marvel at throughout this exciting, multi-faceted city! This row of homes features gorgeous, colorful Queen Anne's Victorian architecture, complimented by equally impressive skyscrapers in the distance. This piece combines two elements that are often present in my images: 1.) Stopping the car while driving around to capture a scene that calls to me, and 2.) Standing in the middle of the street to do so!
