City Park Pagoda - Baltimore, Maryland - USA
Baltimore was generally a pleasantly surprising city. Full of history, monuments, culture, architecture, and skyline views. This beautifully constructed Pagoda was an additional pleasantly surprising cherry on top, found while touring the city. Decided to head to Patterson city park to check it out, not knowing what I would find. I was absolutely delighted to come across this gorgeous structure! Bare winter trees, and dusk lighting added to the mood and memorable feeling of wonder from this spontaneous, unexpected find!
Temple - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - USA
Nature is truly my church, and my temple. I spend much of my time in reverence of it's infinite beauty, but also love to admire and appreciate the creations of man. These incredibley intricate designs found at the entrance to the Masonic Temple in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The night time, and the illuminated lights made for a fantastic dance of light and shadow.
Beauty & amazement can be found absolutely everywhere, and quite often, you just gotta look up. This is the Ponce De Leon lighthouse, the tallest in Florida, and 2nd tallest masonry lighthouse in America, with 203 steps. It's known for it's expansive view of the Florida coast, including Daytona Beach & Cape Canaveral. Frankly, I was much more mesmerized with this view, than the one at the top, as I was In the Moment, observing the beauty all around versus racing to the top.
Historic Connection - Vermont, New Hampshire Border - USA
This 449 foot covered bridge was constructed in 1866, crosses the Connecticut river, and connects the cities of Cornish, New Hampshire and Windsor, Vermont. For 142 years, until 2008, it was the longest covered bridge in America, and although a longer one was built in Ohio, from my perspective, it doesn't get much cooler than the beautiful weathered texture of this historic landmark. This, along with the roadside field of weeds and wilted wildflowers, was the focus of this capture. I found myself standing on top of the roadway railing, likely looking foolish to the many passers by, to get the angle I felt would best convey the beauty experienced here. Undoubtedly, it would take more than a few funny looks from strangers to deter me from this mission!
