Huge, and breathtaking waves were crashing and spilling over the rock formations on this full moon night in Dana Point. I wasn't entirely pleased with the color composition, or lighting of the capture, and tossed it from my portfolio. However, I'm so in love with the waves, the texture, and feeling of awe that they created in me, that I decided to bring it back to life, by turning it into a black and white abstract creation.
Found this scene while driving back down the mountain from Idyllwild, CA back toward the Hemet area, on Hwy 243 as you wind down the mountain. You can see Diamond Valley Lake in this shot. I really enjoyed the interesting cloud formations with the visible rain coming down over Hemet. I got out of the car & hiked a bit in order to include the rocky rolling hills, and trees in the shot.
